CHERRY PICKED - JUST FOR YOU

We all know how important mulching is for the health of our plants, but what you might not realize is that mulch comes in many unique flavors. Looking to spruce things up, give one of these mulch alternatives a try!

“BYTE”-SIZED GARDEN TALES

Agatha squinted at the seed packet in her hand. "Rainbow Carrots? Guaranteed to grow in vibrant shades of purple, orange, and even blue!" The goofy grin plastered across the cartoon carrot on the front made her suspicious, especially considering the date – April 1st. But a tiny, adventurous part of her itched to try.

She prepared a small patch of soil, her lips twitching with a smile. Planting "Rainbow Carrots" seemed like the perfect April Fool's Day prank on herself. Imagine the bewildered faces of her gardening buddies when they saw her "exotic" harvest!

The days turned into weeks, and Agatha dutifully watered her designated prank plot. To her surprise, tiny green shoots emerged, not unlike regular carrot seedlings. Her amusement dimmed a little. Maybe this wouldn't be as funny as she'd imagined.

One crisp morning, Agatha decided to check on her "Rainbow Carrots." As she pulled back the soil, her jaw dropped. Nestled amongst the green foliage were vibrant orange carrots, just like the picture on the seed packet!

Laughter bubbled up, tinged with disbelief. Had she been fooled by an elaborate marketing scheme? Or was there some truth to the fantastical "Rainbow Carrots"?
